The final IWMAC Autocross for the year was held on Sunday 15th, and the action was as hot as the 35 degree temperatures!!
With a completely resurfaced track that was prepared over the last 2 weeks by the volunteers from the IWMAC club, it was a smooth and fast day with the 47 drivers all having a great day.
WRX Club’s Stephen Faulks headed into the last round in outright first place, leaving Mick McMillan the challenge of needing to pull out a PB in the last lap to secure yet another first place on the dirt.
Both cars went out on the last run knowing what they had to do. Stephen put down a fast yet safe time of 1:34.64 for the combined standing and flying. Mick, with it all to do, came out flying and completely blitzed the field putting down a devastatingly fast PB and fastest lap of the day with a 1:33.25 putting him back into his familiar first place position by 0.75 seconds - Congratulations Mick!
Matt Mingin put in a great effort with an outright fifth position and Alicia Oldfield pulled out a first in the ladies class.
